Ryan Redbeard…
We are now down to the final three days of “No-shave November”. There are a couple of things we realized through this month. First, Carrie and I really are not fond of beards. We are both looking forward to having this off my face Wednesday night. Second, we are very spoiled and need reminders like this of just how blessed we are. We have a great deal to be thankful for. I’ve had an entire month to have a reminder right in front of my face (literally).
To date, the Feeny dealership has collected enough money to send 10 kids to the Shop with a Cop program. We would like to be able to send at least another five kids. It takes $100 to send a child on this shopping trip, and it would be great if we could send at least another five kids. We have received donations from local folks and from people as far away as Canada. I would love to see us receive enough in the last 3 days of this contest to make it to 15 kids.
It is times like these that I evaluate what is truly important in life. Although we all like to get nice things, true joy comes from serving and helping others. Whether you donate to this particular program or not, please take time this Christmas season to find ways to bless those around you. Think of families who have a family member serving in the military, think of someone who has experienced a loss this year, think of kids from single-parent households, and ask God to just put someone on your heart. Do something kind for someone else. Deliver some cookies, send a nice card, drop off a meal, mail someone a gift card, or fill an entire Santa bag full of gifts. Whatever you can do, do. You will both be blessed.
We have until 6pm Wednesday here at Feeny to take donations for Shop with a Cop. If you would like to donate and can’t stop in or you are from another town, state, or country just give us a call at 989-732-5991. We would gladly take more donations over the phone up to 6pm Wednesday. It is for a great cause and will lift the spirits of a few more kids this Christmas! If you are local, please stop in and give what you can. And check out our beards… be quick, because they will disappear after Wednesday! God bless you all and have a great Christmas!!
